About Yousef Bin Noah Ahmad

Sheikh Yousef Bin Noah Ahmad (Yusuf ibn Nuh Ahmad al-Yamani, Abu Abd al-Rahman) is a Quran reciter born in Yemen and raised in Mecca. He holds an ijaza in the ten Quranic readings, individually and combined, teaches the Quran at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, and has recorded the complete Quran in each of the twenty transmissions (riwayat) of the ten readings.

He is one of the teachers of Maqra'at al-Haramayn (the Quran recitation circle of the Two Holy Mosques) and one of the reciters of Saudi Arabia's Quran Radio.

His recorded work stands out for its scope: besides the widespread reading of Hafs 'an 'Asim, he has recited the entire Quran in both transmissions of every one of the ten readers, from Warsh and Qalun for the reading of Nafi' to Ishaq al-Warraq and Idris al-Haddad for that of Khalaf. Taken together, they allow listeners to hear how the readings differ across the whole text.
