About Mosaad Anwar
Sheikh Mosaad Anwar (Mosaad Anwar Imam Ali) is an Egyptian Salafi preacher, best known for his religious programmes on the al-Rahma satellite channel and for the lessons and lectures he has given in mosques in Egypt and other Arab countries. His programmes, devoted to religious instruction and exhortation, gained him a wide audience in the Arabic-speaking world.

In September 2015 he was arrested at his home in Cairo and accused, among other things, of inciting against the state; he denied the charges, saying he had stayed away from all political activity since June 2013, and was later released.
