Romantic song
He loved singing from childhood and first performed at school events, then in 1983 became the singer and drummer of a band. He went solo in 1986 with the support of Eid Al-Faraj and released his first album, Habib al-Ghayr, in 1989. Over some sixteen years he recorded around fifteen albums for several labels, including Rotana, among them Tanat and Fedaytik (1995) and Maliki Qalbi (2007), and shot music videos in India and Turkey.
Religious turn
In 2007 he announced that he was leaving romantic song behind, saying that love songs benefit no one, and from then on produced only nasheeds. His first religious album, Al-Bidaya ("The Beginning"), came out the same year, followed by Salati ("My Prayer", 2010) and Al-Kull bil-Kull (2011). During Ramadan 2007 he also presented the programme Fa'il Khayr on the Sama Dubai channel.
In October 2018 he made a comeback to singing with the single "Zuruf al-Waqt".
