About Ahmed Al Ajmi
Sheikh Ahmed Al Ajmi (Ahmad ibn Ali ibn Muhammad Al Sulayman al-Ajmi) is a Saudi imam and Quran reciter, born on 24 February 1968 in Khobar, in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. A graduate in Islamic law, he is one of the best-known reciters in the Muslim world, thanks to a recitation of the Quran in the Hafs reading that is admired for the beauty of his voice and widely broadcast on religious channels and online.

Life and career
He went to school in Khobar, from Al-Muhammadiyya primary school to Khobar Secondary School, and in 1412 AH (1992) earned a bachelor's degree from the Sharia department of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University at its Al-Ahsa campus. According to his biographies, he went on to postgraduate studies in Lahore, Pakistan, up to a doctorate in Quranic exegesis (tafsir).
He began leading prayers in 1404 AH (1984) in mosques in Khobar, including the city's Grand Mosque and later the Prince Muhammad ibn Fahd Mosque. Having later settled in Jeddah, he leads the Tarawih prayers there during Ramadan.
Recitation
He recites according to the Hafs transmission. His complete murattal recitation of the Quran, calm yet melodious, is one of the most widely circulated of his generation.
