Surah Ad-Dhuha – Ahmed Aissa El Masarawi

Ad-Dhuha (Ad-Duha, "The Morning Hours") is the 93rd surah of the Quran, in Juz' Amma. Meccan, it has 11 verses and is the 11th surah in the traditional order of revelation, after Al-Fajr. It opens with an oath by the brightness of the forenoon and by the night when it grows still (93:1-2).

It came after a pause in revelation. According to Jundub ibn Sufyan, the Prophet ﷺ fell ill and did not rise to pray for two or three nights; a woman of Quraysh taunted him, claiming he had been abandoned, and this surah was revealed (al-Bukhari, Muslim). Its answer is direct: "Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased" (93:3); the Hereafter will be better for him, and his Lord will give him until he is satisfied (93:4-5).

The Prophet ﷺ is reminded that he was an orphan and given shelter, lost and guided, in need and enriched (93:6-8). Hence the closing commands: do not oppress the orphan, do not repel the one who asks, and proclaim your Lord's favours (93:9-11).

In Ibn Kathir's reading, notably through Al-Bazzi, reciters say takbir after this surah and each following one, up to An-Nas.
