Biography of Outlandish

Outlandish is a Hip Hop European Danish group which was founded in 1997. It included Isam Bashiri (from Morocco), Waqas Ali Qadri (from Pakistan), and Lenny Martinez (from Honduras). Their R&B/Hip Hop/Rap music is widely influenced by their social environment from where they are coming (Arabic music, Pakistanis and Hispanic as well). Though their songs are basically in English, they often use Spanish, Urdu and Arabic lyrics.

Their simple “Pacific to pacific” first Outland’s official album (2000) was directly linked to a charity event that had been organised by Amnesty International. They edited then their second album “Saturday night”; which became later the official sound track of the Danish movie Pizza King.

On the other hand, the singles of their second album Bread and Barrels of Water (2003) had reached the hearts and notably the first musical positions. The track Aîcha (already sung by Cheb Khaled) has become a famous tube that won the first rates of selling in the USA and Germany. The other songs Walou and Guantanamo were very successful in the Asian countries.

Closer than Veins (2005) is their third and recent album. The first single named Look into My Eyes has taken the second rate position concerning the selling in Denmark and Germany.

The lyrics of this song are based on an expressive poem that deals with political issues in the United States, Israel and Palestine.
