Biography of Mais Shlsh

Mais Saoûd Taha Shlsh was born in 1989 in Kuwait. She is from Shaqba Village in Ramallah in Palestine.

She is the third of her brothers.

Among the religious chants that she sang is Sabah Al Khir Ya Baladi; in this song she talks about the rights taking back the Palestinians lands. That song was considered as the best song in the television and radio festival in Cairo in 2004.

Being a Palestinian, Mais’ willing about contributing in the Islamic songs had as a goal to abolish the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

Her dream is about making an artistic tour in the occupied city Yafa.

Mais Shlsh is convinced that the major factors that helped her in the making of her career, in addition to her parents and God, are the Intifada of the Palestinian people and the martyrs that allowed her to think about new and innovative ideas for her songs.

Finally, she declares that she is very relieved that Yusuf Al Qaradawi said in his Fatwa (Al âmal Hassan Hassan, Wal Qabih) that there is no religious opposition towards her career as a woman in the music world.

Mais Shlsh thinks also that the Islamic chant needs some time to be more performing to take over the other corrupted non Islamic songs.
